TRAVERSE CITY — Ernel "Lee" Sloan, 93, of Traverse City, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010, at his home in Traverse City. Born on Oct. 30, 1916, in Milan, Tenn., he was one of seven children of James Franklin and Bela Sloan. Lee was an avid fiddler and a longtime member of the original Michigan Fiddler's Association. Along with his music, he enjoyed photography, crossword puzzles and being with his family and multitude of friends. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him and his many talents.He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Doris; their four children, William (Sharon), of Madison Heights, Pamela (Michael), of San Francisco, Cathy (Patrick), of Traverse City, and Gregory (Alyson), of Royal Oak; and four grandchildren, Nicholas, Sean, Christy and Missi.Per his request, an informal memorial has been held, followed by cremation.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to the American Heart Association.
