Ervin Carlyle Dunckley, Jr., 95, of Traverse City, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2014 at his home near Traverse City.

Ervin was born on Saturday, October 05, 1918 to the late Ervin and Mary (Goward) Dunckley in Corunna, MI. He married Marion Grosse on April 2, 1944. She preceded him in death on January 28, 1984. On Saturday, Aug. 18, 1984, he married Marian Rokos in Grayling.

Ervin served our country as a member of the U. S. Navy. He owned and operated Dunckley Sign Service prior to his retirement. He loved fly fishing, golf and his greatest joy was spending time with his family.

Ervin is survived by his children, Dr. Carol (Richard) Kennedy of Ft. Myers, FL, Margaret "Peg" (Dale) Schnepp of Waterford, Christine (Bill) Milligan of Ferndale, Michael (Jacqueline) Dunckley, Sr. of Traverse City, Ernie (Kathy) Rokos, George (Judi) Rokos and William (Jeannie) Rokos, all of Traverse City, his grandchildren and great grandchildren, Stacey (Richard) Kennedy and son Tyler, Darcey (James) Maher and son Andrew, Kari (Matthew) McCleese and thier daughters Jenna and Addison, Shannon (Pete) Moegling and their son Easton, Gabriel (Hannah) Bahlhorn, Michael Dunckley, Jr., Matthew Dunckley, Megan (Seth) Markham, Brad Rokos, Hannah Rokos, Shannon Preston, Natalie Preston, Mandy and Rob Oliver, Brandyn, Sierra and Dylan, Becky and Jeff Muraida, Cady, Ellie and Marian, Sarah (and the late Erik) Johnsen and Anika, Robbie Rokos, Kyle and Amy Rokos, Nicholas and Audrey, Jill Rokos, Anne and Robert Lothschutz and Casimer. Also surviving are his sisters, Barbara Miner of Grayling, Edna Kitchen of Frederic and Shirley Steele of Florida, along with many niece and nephews.

Visitation for Ervin will take place from 4 until 7 pm Wednesday, April 2 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 3, also at the funeral home with his son, Pastor Mike Dunckley officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Catholic Diocesan Cemetery.
