Ethel Kunze (Cox) of Traverse City, Michigan, age 87, passed away on Sunday December 18, 2022. She was born the youngest of four children to Murray and Lillie (Hunt) Cox in Long Lake Township on January 10, 1935, and was a lifelong resident of the area.

Ethel enjoyed many years of wintering in Arizona with siblings and friends. She also loved getting together with family, especially during the holidays, but her Tuesday card night gatherings were something special.

Ethel had a very special bond with her sister Lila. They talked each night on the telephone and they loved watching "Dancing with the Stars."

Ethel is survived by her children, John (Rena) Fraser, Sandy (Wayne) McKinley, and Tom (Pam) Fraser, all of Traverse City; also surviving are Dave (Mary Sue) Kunze of St. Ignace and Sue Wilson of Traverse City; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and her sister Lila Stover of Comstock Park.

She was preceded in death by her husband William Kunze; brothers Rex and Harold Cox; and stepson Robert Kunze.

Per Ethel's wishes, simple cremation has taken place and a celebration of life with her family will be held privately. Her family would also like to offer a special thank you to the amazing team at the Webber Heart Center for their care and compassion.
