Etta Jo Maxson

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish, but shall have everlasting life. " John 3:16

Believing this with all of her heart and soul, Jo now resides with Jesus Christ and has seen the face of God. Etta Jo slipped from the loving arms of her family and friends on October 26, 2013 to be embraced in the arms of good souls that went before her. She was 91 years of age, having been born on June 25, 1922 in Paintsville, KY. She will be sadly missed and always loved. Jo married Roderick Carroll Maxon on Dec. 26, 1945. Rod preceded her in death on April 1, 2005. They shared 59 years together and are rejoined today in Heaven, He went before her to make things ready.

She leaves behind one sons, David (Sally) Maxson, a daughter, Sandie Sue (James) Grubbs, a son-in-law, Mark Finnila, six grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Also surviving are two brothers, P. J. and Glenn and a sister Patricia. They have all lost a part of their heart.

Joe was preceded in death by her parents, Proctor and Osa Stafford, a twin sister Emma "Flo" and sisters Neiva and Jean, her brother, Bob, her husband Rod and her daughter Linda Finnila.

And Jesus said unto him "Verily I say unto thee, today shalt thou be with me in Paradise." This is a solemn promise. Luke 23:43.

A memorial visitation will take place at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral from 5 until 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 29, 2013 . Private family graveside services are planned at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to a charity of your own choosing would be appropriate.
