Evelyn Eileen Fiedler-Bird

Evelyn Evans Fiedler-Bird, 88, went to be with the Lord on July 9, 2016. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God was evident to all.

Evelyn was blessed with a loving family. She married friend and fellow parishioner, Wendell Bird, on September 25, 1997 in Traverse City, MI. Together they served at church, frequented yard sales, and cared for her beautiful garden.

Evelyn was an educator and a business owner. Campus Supply, Campus Bridal and Fiedler Music were just a portion of her business endeavors. One of her greatest joys was supporting missionaries. Through-out the years she has sponsored missionaries, purchased cars, motorcycles, water wells, school supplies and books for a variety of countries. She was a major sponsor of her daughter-in-law's yearly mission trips to Ghana, Africa. Evelyn was constantly finding ways to serve Christ and letting others learn about His goodness.

Evelyn is survived by her husband, Wendell; son, Michael (Robin, PhD) Fiedler, PhD and daughter, Michelle McLain; her grandchildren Jennifer (Scott) Fiedler Larimore, PhD, Nick Fiedler, Kim McLain, and Jenny (Justin) McLain Cooper. Evelyn had five great-grandchildren; Anna and Sarah Larimore, Breanna, Cloe and Brayden Cooper.

Friends are welcome to visit with Evelyn's family from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth St., Traverse City, 49684.

A Funeral Service honoring Evelyn will take place at 11:00 a.m., with visiting one hour prior, on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at the Bayview Wesleyan Church, 720 Wayne St., Traverse City, 49684. Pastor Jack Steenbergh will officiate. Burial will take place in Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.
