Traverse City - Fern Collins Way, 93, of Traverse City passed away December 19, 2015 at Munson Hospice House.

Fern was born on March 31, 1922 in Leelanau County to the late John E. and Blanche (Blackmore) Rinehart.

She was a graduate of the State Hospital School of Nursing in Traverse City. She worked at Munson and for Dr. Ellis and Dr. Krueger in Suttons Bay for many years.

Fern is survived by her children Ron (Elma) Collins of Traverse City, Larry (Lou) Collins of Lake City, Marie Ball of Lake City, Ray (Jacque) Collins of Traverse City, 15 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.

Fern was preceded in death by her daughter Kay Faust and siblings Florence, Gladys and John.

The funeral service celebrating Fern's life will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at 11:00 am with visitation beginning at 10:00 am at the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions in memory of Fern may be directed to Munson Hospice House.
