Florence Louise Payne, 93 of Traverse City and Cheboygan, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Bay Ridge Assisted Living.
Florence was born on February 23, 1920 in Hart, MI. She married John Douglas Payne on December 29, 1940 in Ypsilanti.
Florence was a career Kindergarten teacher in the Van Buren Public School Systems for over 30 years and served as a member of the AFT Teachers Union. She loved to garden and knit. She and John enjoyed living on Mullet Lake during retirement and later moved to Traverse City area.
Surviving Florence is her son Richard Payne of Cheboygan.
Services will be held at a later time. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Michigan. Interment will take place at Hillside Cemetery in Bellville, MI
