Frances Maxine Stoner, 73, of Traverse City passed away March 6, 2016 at Munson Medical Center. Frances was born on January 25, 1943 in Pontiac Michigan and came to Traverse City as a small child. She was raised by her father Francis and his wife Josephine Hasse.
On June 5, 1965 Frances married Robert L. Stoner in Traverse City at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Frances started working as an LPN in 1963 and spent 32 years as a nurse at the Pavilions, she retired in 2005. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, oil painting, quilting, and cooking. She especially enjoyed making cinnamon rolls and treating her friends and family. Frances was a very caring person and enjoyed caring for the elderly.
Frances is survived by her husband of 50 years, Robert. Her daughter Treena Stoner, son James Stoner; granddaughters Tessa and Jenna Ingersoll; sister Linda (James) Parr, sister in-law Deloris (Raymond) Hasse and mom Josephine Hasse.
Frances was preceded in death by her father, Francis Max Hasse, infant sister, Elizabeth and brother Raymond Hasse.
Visitation will be on Thursday, March 10, 2016 from 6 pm to 8 pm for friends and family at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, March 11, 2016 at 11:00 am at Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
Memorials contributions may be directed to Munson Medical Center or to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
