Cedar - Frances Viola McLellan Weatherford, 88, wife of Joseph Weatherford, passed on December 14, 2017 at Culver Meadows Nursing Home.

Frances was born on April 27, 1929 in Boston, MA, daughter of the late Charles Walter McLellan and Viola Chase McLellan of Nova Scotia, Canada. Frances moved with her family from Boston to Flint, MI as a child and graduated from Flint Central High School. She met her husband, Joe, in 1947 and married in 1949. They raised their family and enjoyed a very good life in Saginaw, MI. They retired and eventually moved to Leelanau Co., MI.

Frances is survived by her husband Joe Weatherford of Cedar, MI; children Cheri (Bill) Buchbinder of Elmwood Twp., MI, Steven (Carol) Weatherford of Kalamazoo, MI, Scott (Susan) Weatherford of E. Lansing, MI, Lisa (Jay) Taylor of Dublin, OH, brother Walter (Jan) McLellan of Dunellin, FL, eight grandchildren, two great grand children and nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents and brother Don (June) McLellan and Nephew, Jonathon McLellan.

A memorial service will be held for family and friends on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at 2 p.m. with visitation held one hour prior at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home at 305 Sixth St. Traverse City, MI 49684.
