Francis Lahey Schaefer, 51, passed away January 28, 2017 at Munson Medical Center.
Francis was born on August 29, 1965 to Patricia and Wilbur Schaefer in Lakewood, OH.
Francis was born developmentally disabled but so sweet and smart! After time at home, Francis lived at St. Rita's Home for Children in Buffalo, NY where he received outstanding care that focused on his needs. Later in life, he moved back to Michigan to be with his father who was dealing with dementia and to be closer to his family.
Francis was preceded in death by his father Wilbur.
Francis is survived by his mother Patricia, sister Patricia Schaefer, sister Caroline (Thomas) Schaefer-Hills, niece Beatrix Schaefer Hills and nephew Finn Schaefer Hills.
A memorial gathering will be held on Monday, February 6, 2017 at 4:00 pm at Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home.
