TRAVERSE CITY – Frank Crosbie Maxwell, 90, of Traverse City, passed away on November 30, 2015. Frank was born on October 27, 1927 in VanNorman, Montana. to his parents the late William Crosbie and Grace Marian (Eslack) Maxwell. In 1945 he enlisted and honorably served his country for six years in WWII and Korea in the U.S. Army Air Force serving as an Aerial Engineer and Flight Mechanic Technician.
During his life he traveled and experienced many adventures in Montana, California, Alaska and Florida before settling in the Traverse City area in 2011. Prior to entering the military service he worked as a "hardrock" miner for the Anaconda Copper Mining Company in Butte, Montana.
Frank loved to be outside and enjoyed gardening and taking rides in the country side and especially loved fishing and hunting.
Frank is survived by his son Frank C. (Kathleen) Maxwell II of Santee California; his companion, Lucille Evelyn Lewis; step-daughters, Cindy (Ted) Carlisle, Luann (Allan) Clark, Evelyn Aldridge; Step-son, Todd Aldridge, Dennis (Robin) Aldridge; grandchildren, Frank and Sara; step-granddaughter, Diana (Jay) Walborn of Minnesota.
He is preceded in death by Mary Ann and Viola Maxwell; siblings Grace, Wallace, John, James, Alex, Hugh and Alice.
Burial will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery in Grawn.
