Fred W. Marsh, Jr., age 93 of Grawn, Ml passed away on February 23, 2025 at his home.

He was born the Son of Fred W. Marsh, Sr. and Etha B. (Clow) Marsh in Green Lake Township in Grand Traverse County. When he was 1 year old the family moved to Bendon Rd., Bendon Michigan.

On November 23,1951 he married Phyllis A. Saxton. They bought property ln Grawn Michigan and lived there all of their lives, except winter months after retirement, spent in Zephyrhills, Florida.

He attended grade school in Bendon and High School In Honor. After graduation, he served In the Coast Guard. Eventually he went to work at Consumer's Power as a tree trimmer, retiring in January 1991 after 40 years.

He was a member of Community of Christ Church for many years, ordained as a self-sustaining Minister in 1960. He volunteered in many activities.

He enjoyed gardening, taking care of flowers, his lawn and his homes. Fred was devoted to his family, and deeply loved his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, their spouses, as well as his extended family, including many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He also enjoyed writing his life history and stories from birth until his death.

Survivors include his four children, Janice (Randy) Huffman, Fred (Sandy) Marsh Ill, Sharon Wilkins, and Ruth White.

Grandchildren include Michael (Lisa) Wilkins, Ann (Ken) Hudson; Fred Marsh IV, David (Jessica) Marsh, and Alicia (Scott) Adams; Emilee White, Matthew (Kendall) White, and Annika (Andrew) White.

Great-Grandchildren Include Kelsey (Gannon) Sheffer, Travis Sheffer; Tyler Wilkins; Sydney Adams, Hudson Adams, and Calvin Adams; Avery Marsh and Brantley Marsh.

His Sister Carol Wiggins and Brother-in-law Marvin Saxton.

He was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis of 48 years, her parents Delbert and Elma (Nickerson)Saxton (Leroy Wheelock, Marvin Leggett), his parents, his Sister Alice (Tom) McIntire, Brother Wardwell (Lori) Marsh, Son-in-Law Gary Wilkins, Brother-in-Law Carl Wiggins, Sister-in-Law Kay Saxton, and Special Friend Alice Gates.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth St. Traverse City. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service, also at the funeral home. Reception will follow the service and take place at West Side Community Church, 4975 E. Traverse Highway.
