Fred Apczynski, 85, of Kewadin was born into eternal life on July 17, 2025.
Fred was born on April 18, 1940 in Detroit to the late Edward and Clara Apczynski.
He attended school in Detroit and graduated from De La Salle High School. He then went on to Wayne State University.
Fred and Mary were married on September 21, 1985. They were married for 40 years and Mary often shared with her friends that he was a marvelous husband and they made each other very happy.
Fred was a true animal lover. Loving their dogs and many cats over the years. Animals have always been a joy in their life. Fred's career started as an automotive engineer until age 50 when they moved north to Elk Rapids and started over as realtors. After 17 years he retired in 2005 and loved it. They had a wonderful life on Elk Lake in a smaller home and it just worked for them. He will be dearly missed every day.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Clara, an older sister (died at birth), two older brothers, Edward (Delores) and Tommy (Delphine).
Fred is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary; his children whom he prayed for daily and their families, Michelle (Mark) Carroll, Lisa (Curt) Skowronski and Eric Apzcynski.
The mass of Christian burial will be held at Christ the King on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at 11 am with visitation beginning at 10 am. A luncheon will follow.
Graveside services will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Kewadin at a later date.
Memorial contributions in memory of Fred may be directed to Christ the King or to Cherryland Humane Society.
