Gail M. Baker, 85 of Traverse City passed away Friday, April 17, 2015 at Munson Medical Center. Gail was born January 2, 1930 in West Branch, MI. to Thomas and Ruby (Pray) Williams. She married Calvin Baker June 9, 1951 and had three children,Jeffrey T., Bradley J., and Cynthia G. Baker.

Gail taught school for many years in Niles, MI. before moving with her husband to the Traverse City area and teaching in Elk Rapids where she was awarded Teacher of the Year. Gail was also State President for Women's Alumni of Western Michigan, a Delta Kappa Gamma member and in the Who's Who of American Education.

Gail was preceded in death by her husband, parents and daughter in law Deborah Baker.
She is survived by sons; Jeffrey T. Baker of Goshen, IN. and Bradley J.(Kathleen) Baker of Dowagiac, MI, daughter Cynthia (Daniel) Kenny of Niles, MI. grandchildren; Thomas and Catherine Kenny, Travis and Haley Baker, Carrie (Nate) Swailes, Amelia and Natalie Swailes and Jordon Hochsteler and sister Lois Ann Williams.
Visitation will start at 1PM on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral home followed by a graveside service at Oakwood cemetery at 230 pm
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to charity of choice.
