Gary Lee Riggs, 64, of Traverse City, MI, passed away January 6th, 2016 with his family by his side.
In his youth, Gary was a star running back for the Traverse City Trojans (#20) and developed a love for the outdoors at an early age. He was an avid hunter and fisherman all of his life and was well known locally for his skills with masonry, construction, and most recently, the installation & processing of hops on Old Mission Peninsula.
Gary was preceded in death by his best friend and father-in-law, Robert Lee Manning.
He is survived by his mother, Marilyn Solem Riggs, his 2 daughters, Susan Riggs & Melissa Riggs-Howard, his grandson Jordan Lee Riggs, and his 3 brothers, Sonny (Gordon) Riggs, Greg Riggs, & Brian Riggs.
For anyone who knew Gary, they would know he was anything but formal, so in celebration of his life we will be hosting a gathering at Brady's Bar at 401 S. Union St. beginning at 4pm on Sunday, January 10, 2016.
In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that you please send donations to the Silver Muzzle Cottage Project in Gary's name.
