Gerald 'Jerry' Lee Daniels, 87, of Harrietta passed away August 7, 2016 at the Villas at Traverse Point surrounded by his loving family.
Jerry was born February 15, 1929 to Charles and Belle Sarah (Catlin) Daniels in Lake Odessa, MI. His early years were spent in Sunfield, MI where he attended a one room schoolhouse. After high school he enlisted with the Army National Guard. He worked for General Telephone as a lineman for 38 years and retired in 1985. He married Suzanne Jourdan on May 11, 1974 in a service in Centerville, MI.
Jerry will be remembered for his love of coaching. He enjoyed coaching all different sports, including football, baseball, soccer and wrestling. He was avid outdoorsman and loved to hike and fish, especially in Tucson, AZ.
Jerry is survived by his wife Suzanne Daniels; sons Jeff Daniels, Gerald Daniels Jr., Ronnie Daniels, Randy Daniels, Gale Daniels; daughter Teresa Smith; brother Duane (Rita) Daniels, and numerous grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Verle Daniels, Virgil Daniels, Burton Daniels, Charles Daniels; and two infant siblings Richard Daniels and Wilma Daniels.
Per Jerry's wishes his body has been donated to the University of Michigan Medical School Anatomical Donation Program. A memorial service to honor Jerry's life will be held at a later date.
