Traverse City - Jerry Mead, 80, of Traverse City and formerly of St. Joseph passed away unexpectedly on July 21, 2015 at Munson Medical Center.

Jerry was born on July 4, 1935 in Jackson, Michigan to the late Charles and Marie (Snoor) Mead.

In 1989, Jerry married Mary Richardson in St. Joseph, Michigan. They moved to Traverse City in 2012.

Jerry was a retired salesman.

He enjoyed golfing and watching and supporting Michigan sports teams, in particular U of M. He was also a dog lover and car enthusiast. Jerry will be fondly remembered as a neat and meticulous, wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 25 years, Mary, children Kurt, Kimm (Michael) Gentry, Mark Mead, Julie Mead, Rob (Sara) Mead, stepchildren Kris (Michael) Henke and Rob (Tammy) Oakley, 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Jerry was preceded in death by his brothers Dean and Richard.
