Gerald F. Strandell

Traverse City - Gerald Strandell, 66, of Traverse City passed away Sunday, September 9, 2012 at his home.

Jerry was born on October 6, 1945 in Waterford to the late Gerald F. and Marian Strandell.

Jerry enjoyed collecting coins and baseball cards in his spare time. He also liked to feed the squirrels. Above all else, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter Aubrey. He was a kind man who was the kind of guy, that if you needed anything, he would be there to help you.

Jerry is survived by his daughters Megan and Molly Strandell, and Heather and Shannon Strandell, granddaughter Aubrey Kirkbride, nieces Carrie and Renee, nephews Shane, Jeff, Joey, nieces Darla and Lisa and nephew Arnie.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, sister Star and her husband Larry, and sister Elaine and her husband Joe, and his nephew Kenny.

A memorial service celebrating Jerry's life will take place on Monday, September 17, 2012 at 3:00 pm at the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Jerry's close friend Randy Burgess will lead the time of remembrance. He will be laid to rest at Inland Township Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions in memory of Jerry may be directed to the Father Fred Foundation.
