Geraldine Gerri Anderson

Geraldine (Gerry) Anderson, 92 of Maple City passed away Monday at Effie's Place in Leland. Gerry was born January 8th 1926 in Waukegan, Illinois to the late Charles and Lou Lou (Jensen) Atkinson. On May 20th, 1949 she married the late Robert Bruce Anderson in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Together they raised four loving children; R Scott Anderson (Christine) of Leland, Sandra DuBois (David Kish) of Maple City, Phillip Anderson (Catherine) of Maple City, and the late Andrea Carol Anderson. They were blessed with five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Gerry was a nurse for many years always willing to help anyone in need. She was a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 199 and for many years helped with the Children's Christmas Fund of Leelanau County. Gerry loved to hunt for rocks and morels. Private family services and burial will take place at the Cleveland Township Cemetery at a later date. Memorial Contributions may be directed to Share Care of Leelanau.
