Gertrude (Trudy) Stella Marsh, 91, of Traverse City and formerly of Westland and Pinckney, MI, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2020 at the Grand Traverse Pavilions.
Trudy was born on February 15, 1929, in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Walter and Stella (Butkowski) Miles. She graduated from Mackenzie High School of Detroit in the Class of 1946. She married the late Frederick Marsh on November 22, 1947, also in Detroit, MI. Together they raised two wonderful children, Christine and Robert, in Westland. The family moved to Pinckney in 1970, where Fred and Trudy lived until retiring to Traverse City in 1995.
Trudy took great pride in her bookkeeping career and worked for several companies, including Big George's Home Appliance Mart in Ann Arbor.
Trudy and Fred enjoyed travelling with "The Flying High Club", a group of friends who met in high school and stayed together through the years. The club travelled all over the country, including Hawaii and Alaska, and Thailand.
Trudy and Fred loved visits from their grandchildren, when they played board games, ate Hershey's Kisses, and romped in the yard. Especially memorable is a trip to Disneyworld with all three grandchildren together.
Surviving Trudy are her children, Robert "Bob" (Susan) Marsh of Traverse City, Christine (Whitney) Prince of Dexter, MI, grandchildren Jeffrey, Aimee, and Lauren, her brother Walter (Geri) Miles and several other family members and friends.
Trudy is preceded in death by her husband and parents.
The Marsh Family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the entire staff at the Grand Traverse Pavilions Birch Unit for caring for Trudy these many years, especially during these difficult times when the family was unable to visit.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Grand Traverse Pavilions. Kindly share thoughts and memories of Trudy with her family at
