Gladys Newman, 97, of Leelanau County passed away June 30,2021 at Culver Meadows. Gladys was born on May 29, 1924 to the late Delbert and Tillie(King) Flaska. In 1940 she married Robert Newman and they had 2 sons Bobby and Ronald. She was very dedicated to her family and her beautiful flower gardens on Lincoln Rd. Gladys and Bob grew countless varieties of vegetables, fruit and grapes in their gardens along Cedar Creek. She was blessed to be able to live in her home until age 95 and continued to enjoy trips to garage sales and adventures to the Casino with her Daughter in Law Reva. Gladys will be dearly missed by her son Ron(Reva), grandchildren Jeff(Karen) Newman and Jennifer Newman. Her great grandchildren Ben and Claire will miss visiting and sharing KFC for lunch. She is preceded in death by her siblings Irene, Edward, Glen, Charlie, Raymond and Gene, as well as husband Bob and son Bobby.
A private family gathering has taken place where Gladys was laid to rest at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens next to her husband.

Lincoln Road, Traverse City, MI, 49684, as we all know how much Gladys respected her township since moving there in 1941 and the contributions will be used to purchase trees and flowers to beautify the park.
