Glen Stanley Flaska, 86 of Maple City, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Munson Medical Center.
Glen was born at the family home in Maple City, on March 9, 1927, to the late Delbert and Tillie (King) Flaska.
Following his time in school he went to work for Ford Garage. Not too long after starting to work he was drafted into the Army and served during WWII. Upon his return from the service he went to work for Lockheed in California making Helicopter blades. After many years at Lockheed he retired and enjoyed dabbling in the stock market and taking care of his rentals and real-estate. He liked to spend time with his coffee club buddies, Mitch, Jim and Eddie at the Maple City Short Stop. Also, he was dedicated member of the Maple City Lions Club for many years.
Most importantly Glen will be remembered for his White Hummer and the love he had for his family. He was a good man and his gentle smile will be missed by all who knew him.
Surviving Glen are his siblings, Gladys Newman, Charlie (Marilyn) Flaska, nieces and nephews, Nancy (Jack) Sette , Ron (Reva) Newman, Don Karns, Betty (Ray) Warnes, Scott (Joanne) Flaska, Jerry Flaska, Kathi (Rob) Thoreson, Robert "Bobby" (Joanie) Flaska, Bruce Flaska, Lisa (Pete) Erickson, Mark Flaska, and many great nieces, nephews and friends.
Glen is preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Tillie, siblings, Raymond, Edward, Irene, Gene, brother-in-law Bob Newman, niece Laurie and nephew Robert.
A graveside service was held for Glen at 2pm on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at the Cleveland Twp. Cemetery with full Military Honors from the VFW Post 2780. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Maple City Lions Club.
