Glenn Allen Woodcock

Glenn Allen Woodcock, 87 of Traverse City, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2015 at the Grand Traverse Pavilions with family present.

Glenn was born on January 3, 1928 in Halfway, MI to the late Roscoe and Hattie (Scheck) Woodcock. He married Arla C. Orcutt in Ellsworth, MI on December 17, 1949. Together they lovingly raised two wonderful daughters Judith and Nanci.

Glenn honorably served our Country in the United States Army in both WWII and in the Korean War as a Sargent. Following his time in service, he attended the University of Michigan. After schooling, he worked in the grocery business, finishing his career as a manager at Tom's Food Market in Traverse City.

Glenn was a devoted member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Traverse City. He loved Tiger baseball and attended many Beach Bums Games, seated right behind the catcher's mound. In his spare time, Glenn loved spending time with his family and especially his late cat Sundae.

Surviving Glenn is his wife Arla of 65 years, daughters Judith (Michael) Smith and Nanci Woodcock, grandchildren Jennifer (Tim) Lyon, Amy (Danny) Chiao, great-grandchildren, Leland, Nola, Daylin, and Tiverton.

Glenn is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Al Woodcock, Roscoe Woodcock, Gladys Lertola, Leroy Woodcock, Violet Bernier and his beloved cat Sundae.

Visitation was held for Glenn from 4-7pm on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:30pm, today, Wednesday, January 7, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Traverse City. Pastor Robert Zagore will serve as officiant. Burial will take place in the Spring at the Elk Rapids Maple Grove Cemetery.
