Traverse City-Gloria Marie Kinnee 85, of Traverse City, peacefully passed away Monday morning, May 20, 2013, at Munson Medical Center.
Born September 13, 1927, in Traverse City. She was one of five children born to the late Elmer and Marie (Brunner) Richards.
On June 3, 1944, in Traverse City, she married the love of her life Edward Kinnee.
Gloria will be fondly remembered for her kind heart, sense of humor, and love for her family and friends. She had a personality you could not help but fall in love with.
Gloria was gifted and talented at many things. She was an incredible artist, and had a true passion for baking and bowling. She was recognized by her peers and inducted into the 2008 Bowling Hall of Fame. This meant the world to her after bowling for over 50 years.
She is survived by her children. Betty (Michael) Olvitt, of Traverse City, Edward Merel "Buck" (Sandra) Kinnee, of Williamsburg, Sharon Kinnee , of Traverse City, Donna Kinnee, of Traverse City, and Judy (John) Abernethy, of Traverse City. 15 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren. Her sisters Nancy (Wally) Phillips, of Oden, Beverly Carroll, of Traverse City, and Kay (Jerry) Donner, of Traverse City, along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Gary Richards, husband Edward Kinnee, and her son David Bryan Kinnee.
The Kinnee family will receive friends and family at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral home on Friday, May 24, 2013, from 6:00PM to 8:00PM.
Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, May 25, 2013, at 11:00AM, with Rev. John Sowash officiating.
Burial will follow at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.
In remembrance of Gloria, donations may be directed to the American Heart Association. Envelopes may be obtained at the funeral home.
