Gordon R. Weber
Gordon Weber, 83, of Traverse City passed away October 1, 2014.
He was born on February 15, 1931 to Joseph and Noreen(Michels) Weber in Mayfield, MI. Gordon served his country with the U.S. Army during the Korean War and then married the love of his life Theresa Winowiecki on August 24, 1957 and together raised four beautiful children, Kalvin, Dennis, Keith and Joan.
Gordon retired in 1985 from Peninsula Asphalt where he worked for many years as a truck driver. After his retirement he enjoyed spending as much time as possible with his children and grandchildren.
He was a Member of St. Francis Catholic Church. lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post #2780, Gordon also enjoyed hunting, camping, watching football, listening to country music and dancing.
Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Theodore, Lawrence, Joseph and Donald and his sister Dorothy Reamer.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Theresa(Winowiecki), Sons; Kalvin(Carol), Dennis(Julie), and Keith Weber all of Traverse City, Daughter Joan(Scott) Cook Pensacola, FL. and Fort Wayne. IN.. His brothers;Kneale (Diane), Leo (Karen) and David(Doty) all of Kingsley and sisters Shirley(Jerry) Ankerson of Traverse City and Marge Peplinski of Owosso, MI.
Grandchildren; Allyssa M. Cook, Ti (Samuel) Neely, Kristen Hawkins, Destin, Calen ,Melanie and Landon Weber and Steven Gates and 5 great grandchildren.
Visitation will take place Monday October 6 at St. Francis Catholic Church at 11:00 AM with recitation of the rosary at 12:30 and Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 2:00 PM. A luncheon to follow the mass Interment will take place at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens following Lunch with Military Honors by the V.F.W. Post #2780.
