Gordon William Weber, 76, of Traverse City, passed away peacefully on July 24, with family at his side.
Gordon was born in Royal Oak, Michigan, on September 9, 1947 to Raymond and Shirley Weber. The family moved to Traverse City when he was quite young.
Gordon honorably served his country in the Army Reserves as a sergeant! Gordon met the love of his life at a social gathering. It was love at first sight! They were married 6 months later on September 13, 1969.
Celebrating 54 wonderful years.
Gordon was a very loving father to his two children, Samantha and Marc.
And a proud grandfather to his grandchildren: Mackenzie, Anna, Ben and Nick.
Gordon was a general contractor, learning the trade from his father. He started
Gordon Weber Construction, Inc in 1976, and developed many subdivisions and homes in this area.
From a young age he cherished his time outdoors. He love fishing and passed that love on
to his family. He was also a runner and completed many races including a marathon.
When he retired they moved to the Florida Keys and spent a lot of time saltwater fishing with family. They moved back home to Traverse City in 2017.
Gordon is survived by his loving wife Kathy, daughter Samantha Shumsky and her children Anna and Nick. and son Marc(Stephanie) Weber and their children, Mackenzie and Ben. His brother Ken(Ruth)Weber; and his sisters, Rosemary(Don)Brown and Nancy Olsen.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
