TRAVERSE CITY — Grace Mable Yarick, 102, of Traverse City, died Saturday, Dec. 24, 2011, at Grand Traverse Pavilions in Traverse City.Grace was born Sunday, June 6, 1909, to the late Earl and Deta (Koch) Smith in Jefferson Township, Williams County, Ohio. She married John Ross Yarick in 1931. He preceded her in death on Dec. 7, 1967.Grace had worked for Lamson's in Toledo, Ohio, for many years. She was a very talented seamstress and enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting. She also enjoyed working in her gardens. However, her greatest joy was spending time with her family.Survivors include her sons, Philip (Annie) Yarick, of Santa Fe, N.M., Richard (Virginia) Yarick, of Cedar, Jack (Joyce) Yarick, of Temperance, and Neil (Joyce) Yarick, of Traverse City ; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.Grace was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and five siblings.Family graveside services will be held at the Historic Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo, Ohio, at a later date.Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Diabetes Association.Condolences may be shared with the family by way of Grace's online guest book at www.reynolds-jonkhoff.com.The family is being served by Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
