The world lost a bright light far too soon with the sudden passing of Gregory Donald Bickle. His children and grandchildren were his greatest treasures, placed on a pedestal of love, but his kindness extended beyond family. If you needed help, Greg was already there ready to lend a hand, much like his beloved mother, Dorothy Jean Bickle, who taught him the true meaning of generosity.
Greg walked to the beat of his own drum, and what a rhythm it was! His passion for Harley-Davidsons was known far and wide, and when he wasn't surrounded by family, you could find him embracing the open road, the wind in his face, truly free in nature. He found peace in the great outdoors—hunting, providing, and giving all he had, even when his knees tried to slow him down. He also had a deep love for his fish tanks, always tending to them with care and fascination.
Greg was a man who enjoyed the simple, yet best, pleasures in life. He was a devoted fan of Michigan sports, especially his beloved Detroit Lions and Tigers. His work ethic was evident in his years of service as a bus driver for BATA, where he made countless connections with passengers and coworkers alike.
Greg's love was unconditional, unwavering, and without judgment. He was always in your corner—whether you were family, a friend, or even a stranger in need.
Greg stood beside you in the dark and stood up for you in the light. His presence was larger than life, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him.
Greg is survived by his children: Adam (Ariel), Shauna (Greg), and Ashley (Brian); his cherished grandchildren: Hannah, Isabella, Logan, Dylan, Terrell, Kywaun, Tanaya, Collin, Emmy, Riya, and Aiden; and his great-granddaughter, Vaelen. He also leaves behind his siblings: Doug, Bonnie, Gail, and Peggy.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Sharon.
A gathering to celebrate Greg's life will take place on Sunday February 23, 2025 at Hofbrau in Interlochen from 12-4pm. All are welcome to bring their favorite memories of Greg to share with family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held this spring, where loved ones will honor Greg with a "Final Ride", a tribute to his lifelong passion for the open road.
