TRAVERSE CITY — Gregory A. Gardner, 61, of Traverse City and formerly of Battle Creek, died suddenly Sunday, Oct. 17, 2010, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.Greg was born on Oct. 9, 1949, to the late George and Elizabeth (Doney) Gardner in Battle Creek.Greg lived in Battle Creek prior to moving to the Traverse City area. Greg attended Ferris State University, earning his bachelor's degree, and was the owner of Green Lake Sporting Goods in Interlochen for 12 years. Greg was a member of Bay Pointe Community Church and Pi Kappa Alpha. Greg is survived by his three daughters, Jessica (James) Collins, of Manton, Sarah (Michael) Lutz, of Traverse City, and Victoria Gardner, of Houghton; four grandchildren; his brother, James L Martineau, of Nashville, Tenn.; and many other loving family members and friends. Greg was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial gathering will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 25, at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home.Memorial contributions may be directed to Dakoske-Phoenix or the family.
