Guy Scott King, 73, of Traverse City passed away unexpectedly on November 4, 2025.

Guy was born on September 28, 1952 in Dearborn, MI to the late John Scott and Gladys Marie (Cox) King.

He married the love of his life, Elizabeth Anne McCoskey, in 1983 at Shrine of the Little Flower in Royal Oak. They were blessed with a daughter, Kerry, born in 1987.

Guy will be remembered for his gregarious, vibrant spirit. He always took a genuine interest in anyone he met. His warm demeanor and infectious laugh will be deeply missed by his family and countless friends.

Guy fell in love with aviation at a young age and worked his way up at PDQ, an airline courier company, after which he served as VP of Sales at AirNet in Columbus, Ohio.

He was an avid golfer, participating in many golf leagues over the years, and was a founding member of The Medallion Club in Columbus.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Guy's other passions included boating and playing guitar, both at home and with his guitar club.

Guy was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Jim and John.

He will continue to be cherished by his loving wife Betsy of 42 years; their daughter Kerry (Tim) Tacl; granddaughter Penelope; brother Gary (Penney) King, sister-in-law Sharon King; and Betsy's siblings Maggie (John) Evans, Charlene (Ron) Hatlen, John McCoskey, Mary (Joe) Schauerte, and Christine (Larry) VerHulst; in addition to many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025 from 6 to 8 pm at the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth St, Traverse City, MI 49684.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 3 pm, with visitation beginning one hour prior (2pm), also at the funeral home.
