She was an original member of the Child Study Club in Traverse City. Some of her favorite times were spent traveling with family and dear friends Marion and Earle Steele, playing bridge and golfing. Although she preferred the sun and warmth, she happily accompanied husband Joe hunting and fishing. Gwen also enjoyed cooking including her favorite recipe "cry baby cookies."

The life of Gwen, the happy whistler, will be celebrated at a funeral mass at 2:00 pm on Wednesday November 20th at St. Francis Church in Traverse City, preceded at 1:00 pm by a visitation at the church and followed by a dessert buffet.
