Halcyon Nelson's Obituary
Halcyon Dorothy Nelson, 96, of Traverse City, passed away the morning of April 3, 2023.
She was born in Lansing, daughter to Charles "Chick" Rennie and Margaret Anderson (nee Wheelock).
Halcyon leaves behind her son John D. Nelson; grandchildren James Nelson, William Rockwood, Elizabeth John and Matthew Nelson; great-grandchildren, Jaclynn Laisure, Scott (Jade) John, Megan (Dan) Halleck and Claire Nelson; great-great-grandson Aiden John; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jerome Nelson; daughter Mary Rockwood; siblings John Rennie and Martha Flynn; and step-father Carl Anderson.
A gathering for family and friends will take place Saturday, April 15, from 3-5pm, at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City.
Halcyon will be laid to rest at a later date next to husband Jerome in the Omena Cemetery.
