Henry "Hank" Wallace Finch
December 30, 1932 – July 11, 2023
Hank passed away, at 90 years old, from natural causes in his home surrounded by loved ones. Hank is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sharon, and their two children, Ty Finch (Susan) of Franklin, TN, and Kamie Harrison (Mike) of Rochester Hills, MI. He will also be remembered through his 4 grandchildren, Kelsey, Riggs, Dalton, and Clay, who he developed a strong and loving relationship with.
Hank was raised in Rockford, MI and at the age of 19 he served in the U.S. Coast Guard where his love for being on the water began. He served for 3 years and took part in the Korean War. His education continued at Central Michigan University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Business degree. He then moved across IL, OH, and MI making his way to Traverse City, where he developed a lifelong career with Wolverine Worldwide. One of his proudest career accomplishments was being the first salesman to ship over $1 million of product in a year.
Hank's greatest joys were his family, friends, boating, hunting, fishing, white cars, and volunteering for 9 years at Munson Medical Center. When he purchased their first home in Traverse City, he found paradise on the water for 46 years. He lived a selfless life, which was evident through his devotion to helping others and his long-lasting relationships. He often brought laughter to others with his warm personality and his witty humor. He will always be loved and dearly missed.
The family will be hosting a private celebration of Hank's life. Donations in his honor can be made to Hospice of Michigan or The Parkinson's Foundation.
