Hazel "Kay" Jacobs passed away on January 10, 2025 at the age of 86 in Bradenton, Florida. She is survived by her loving husband.

Kay was born in Traverse City, Michigan on July 5th, 1938. Kay grew up in Traverse City, where she met and married Richard "Dick" Jacobs in 1957. The couple moved to Tucson, Arizona in 1958. Their son, Douglas Richard, was born while they resided in Tucson. In 1960, the family moved back to Traverse City, where their daughter, Dianne Jacobs McClay, was born soon after.

Kay was the Clerk of Garfield Township for 33 years before she retired and moved to Bradenton, Florida with her husband. She proudly served as a member of the International Clerks Association. While serving in her role, she was also a firefighter with Garfield Township. Kay was appointed to the Michigan Firefighters Training Council by Governor Engler in 1992.

Kay is survived by her husband, Dick Jacobs, her son Douglas Richard Jacobs, her daughter, Dianne Jacobs McClay, her grandchildren, Colin, Danielle, Sean, Annie, Jonathan, and Sophie, she had four great grandchildren.

Kay was proceeded in death by her parents, Elmer and Hazel Sawyer of Grawn, Michigan and her sister Helen Rae Zubor.
