Hedges Macdonald Jr.'s Obituary
Hedges Macdonald Jr, 81, passed away November 11, 2025.
Hedges was born and raised in Chicago. He graduated from North Park University with a degree in Theater Arts.
In 1979, he moved to Traverse City and found his home at the Old Town Playhouse where he was especially known for his character roles. In later years, he was active in the Aged to Perfection group.
Surviving are Kathryn Brigman Woods, Mary Ellen Brigman, and Nick (Elspeth) Macdonald of New York.
A special thank you to Don Kuehlhorn who has known Hedges for over 40 years and has been especially supportive and caring these past ten years.
Memorials may be directed to Cherryland Humane Society, Old Town Playhouse of Traverse City, or Grand Traverse Regional Community Foundation (Camp Roy-El Endowment for Scholarships).
A Celebration of Hedges' Life will be Wednesday, December 17, 2025 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Old Town Playhouse, 148 East 8th Street, Traverse City.
Cremation has taken place; arrangements by Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home.
