Hedy Klara Arpagaus, 88, of Traverse City, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2024, at home with her husband by her side.
Hedy leaves behind a rich life that began in 1935 in Baden, Switzerland. Hedy was born to Johan and Verena Burger on April 15, 1935. During her youth, Hedy grew up in a loving family of six and from a young age, she was very close to her sisters and cultivated her legendary crafts of gardening, cooking, and canning.
Hedy and Erco met at the Chesa Grischuna Hotel in the mountains of Switzerland 1952. Hedy and Erco married in 1962 in the US and made their life here.
Hedy was renowned for baking and cooking. She was also known as the charming "Hallmark Lady" at Nugent's where she was a sales associate for many years. Her passions extended to her garden, where she could often be found tending to her beloved geraniums.
Hedy was predeceased by her daughter, Christine Gamarra and is survived by her husband of 60 years, Erco, daughter Stephanie, grandsons Ryker, Alex, Andy, Julian their fathers Reid and Octavio.
