Helen Jeanette Anderson, 80, of Traverse City, MI passed away on Saturday, May 16th, 2020, at Munson Hospital in Traverse City, MI.
Arrangements are being handled by Reynolds-Jonkhoff funeral Home, and memorial services will be held graveside on Friday, May 22nd at Memorial Gardens on Veterans Drive in Traverse City, MI.
Helen was born May 15th, 1940 in Marshfield, MO. To Wilbur and Dorothy Staples, the youngest of four children. She grew up and attended school in the Marshfield area, where she met and then married her husband, Mike Anderson, in 1959. They were married for over fifty years before Mike preceded her in death in 2011. She called him Mikey, and he watched over her until her passing.
Helen worked almost all her adult life, she worked at a big Zenith plant in Missouri, for World Magnetics, and her last job at Normic Industries, where she worked for more than 30 years before retiring. She enjoyed her job there and liked the people she worked with.
Helen hadn't sewn much after it became too difficult but she used to love sewing and cooking, and we'll be digging out sewing books and patterns and cookbook articles for some time. She loved her family, and she loved her dog Boobie, and she loved horses and the outdoors. Get a good black and white western on the TV, preferably John Wayne or Audie Murphy and she was good to go.
She will be missed by many people, her and my Dad both impacted many lives, and I like to think they were all the better for it.
Any donations or memorials can be made in her name to the Traverse City Women's Resource Center.
