Helen Frances Burger passed away on September 8, 2018 in the peace and comfort of her own home, surrounded by family. She was 91 years old and had lived in Traverse City and the Leelanau Peninsula area for the last 27 years.
Helen was born in 1926 in Chicago, IL to Joseph and Helen Blazek. She was the youngest of three children; her brother Joe and sister Loretta predeceased her.
As a child, she and her mother relocated to Flint, MI where she grew up and ultimately met and married her husband of 73 years, Bob Burger. Bob predeceased her earlier this year.
Helen was by Bob's side as his career advanced at General Motors, relocating from home to home across the country upwards of twenty times, traveling the world with him for business and pleasure, and raising their three sons.
In addition to her family and friends, her greatest pleasures in life were dancing, piano bar sing-alongs, sewing her own clothes, successful nights at the casino, and hosting her annual Ladies' Week get-togethers for all her old General Motors friends from around the country.
Helen is survived by her three sons, Roy (Leslie), Dean, and John; three grand-children, and two great-grandchildren.
The family will be holding a small private service.
