Helen Louise Conlin

Helen Louise Conlin, 92, of Traverse City, passed away January 29, 2016.

Helen was born January 10, 1924 in Ann Arbor, Michigan to Lawrence and Helen (Tessmer) Dunn. She attended St. Thomas School and Hamilton Business College in Ann Arbor. She married 1st Lt. Irving Conlin in 1944 at St. Thomas Church, Ann Arbor. She resided in Wayne, Michigan from 1948 to 1970, moved to Cheboygan, MI where she lived until 1995 and then retired and moved to Traverse City. She was employed at Community Memorial Hospital in Cheboygan as Patient Accounts Director until her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Irving and son James.

She is survived by daughters Greta (Michael) Buehler, Mary (Robert) Jaskolski, Ann Moore, son David (Barbara) Conlin, eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She has always been active in parish work at St. Mary's, Wayne, Michigan, St. Francis Alverno, Michigan, Sacred Heart, Riggsville Michigan and Immaculate Conception, Traverse City. She served six years on the Diocese of Gaylord School Board, was a member of the Immaculate Conception Parish Council, Liturgy Commission and served seven years as the chairman on the I. C. Environment Committee.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Covenant House, 2959 Martin Luther King Blvd, Detroit, MI 48208-2475 or to the Cherryland Humane Society.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Traverse City, MI; with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Father Anthony Citro will officiate.
