Helen Maxine Shreeve

April 15, 1935 — May 31, 2025

Helen Maxine Shreeve, 90, of Traverse City, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 31, 2025, at The Villa in Traverse City.
Maxine, lovingly known as "Max," was born on April 15, 1935, to the late William and Opal Teatro. She attended Clarence Ville High School in Livonia, MI
Max was a gifted cook and baker who could whip up a delicious meal out of anything she had on hand. Her homemade cookies, fudge, and brownies were family favorites, and her beautifully decorated wedding and birthday cakes — adorned with flowers and special designs — made every occasion unforgettable.
She had a true green thumb and loved gardening. One memorable year, she grew so many heirloom tomatoes that she was even able to sell some to local restaurants — a rare occasion when she made money instead of generously giving her bounty away.
Max loved animals, the outdoors, and above all, her family. Her favorite time of day was spent at her kitchen table, sipping coffee and chatting on the phone with loved ones. Those early morning conversations will be cherished memories for her family.
Max was a kind, hardworking woman who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her three children: William "Bill" (Dondi) Richardson, Michael "Mike" (Ruth) Richardson, and Monica "Molly" Scavarla-Richardson, siblings June and Bill, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, her previous daughter-in-law, whom she remained close with, Beverly Richardson and so many friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and one brother.

Private family services will be held.
