Helen Joyce Wilsey

Helen Joyce Wilsey, 92, of Traverse City passed away February 9, 2016 at Country Pleasure's Nursing Home surrounded by her family.

Helen was born February 20, 1923 to Richard and Celia (Joynt) Taylor in Wyoming, Canada.

She met her future husband Leo while visiting the Traverse City area. She married Leo March 25, 1944 at a service in Wyoming, Canada. She worked for Glen of Michigan as a retailer and seamstress. She also worked at Cherry Growers. Helen will be remembered best for her love of her family. She enjoyed gardening and especially loved Tiger Lilies.

She was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Celia, and her husband Leo Wilsey.

She is survived by her sons Roger (Mary Ann) Wilsey of Kingsley, Francis (Linda) Wilsey of Traverse City; daughter Lisa (Stan) Williamson of Clearwater, FL; grandchildren Katie (Archie) Graham, Katerina Williamson, Dale Wilsey, Michael (Denise) Wilsey, Nikki (Anthony) Schultz, Jon (fiancé Kristina Reevesy) Williamson; and 7 great grandchildren.

A funeral service for Helen will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 19, 2016 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Richard Lewis will officiate the service.
