Helena Jean Guernsey

Helena Jean Guernsey, 62, of Traverse City passed away surrounded by her loving family on Friday, June 2, 2023 at Munson Medical Center.

Helena was born on April 9, 1961 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Arthur Joseph and Betty Ann (Stauffer) Rouse. She married Carl Louis Guernsey on October 2, 1993 in Kingsley, MI.

Helena was an amazing woman. She loved everyone and everyone loved her. She had a heart of gold and was the sweetest most compassionate person.

Helena will be missed dearly by all her loving family members and friends. She was the most supporting loving mother, and grandma. Her grandchildren were her life, and she was their biggest fan. She was a second mom to so many people. Her loving heart and kind spirt will be forever remembered with Love.

She loved all animals. Helena took care of critically ill animals especially kittens.

Surviving Helena is her beloved husband Carl of 29 wonderful years, her children, Michelle (Robert "Joe") Kremer, Joseph Rouse, grandchildren, Elijah, Emma, Arianna, Jasmine, and Serenity, her siblings Susan Malone, Cindy (Mike) Reno, Art Rouse, several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her four cats that were her fur babies, Tudy, Bennie, Betty Boop, Spooky.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Jerry Rouse and her brother-in-law Michael Malone.
Visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Thursday, June 8, 2023 also at the Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Cherryland Humane Society.
