Traverse City- Helyne Louise Pennell, 83, of Traverse City, MI, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at her home.

Helyne was born on Monday, August 26, 1929 to the late Foryce and Maurine (Sanford) Moulton in Traverse City, MI.

Helyne was married to James Henry Pennell on Saturday, June 24, 1961 in Buckley, MI. He survives her.

Helyne did clerical for many business' throughout her life including, "Ma Bell", McIntosh's Garage, she had been employed in the children's unit at the State Hospital from '64-'76. In 1977 Helyne and James moved to Sebring, FL where she worked for the Highlands County School Board. Moving back to Traverse City in 1984 she worked with Tendercare of Traverse City and the Catholic Family and Children Services, until her retirement in 1994.

Helyne was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. She was a loving and caring aunt, she treated her nieces and nephews as if they were her own.

Helyne is survived by her husband, James H. Pennell of Traverse City, a sister, Linda (Donald) Garvin of Traverse City, nieces; Phyllis Morgan, Charlene (Jim) Wilson, Pamela (Mark) Purvis, Shannon Brady, Kortnee (Bill) Bagley, all of Traverse City and Erin Brady of Chicago. Also surviving are great nieces and nephews and a great great nephew.

Helyne was preceded in death by her, father, Foryce L. Moulton and mother, Maurine (Sanford) Moulton and her sister; Ruth Morgan.

A Memorial service will be held at a later date.
