TRAVERSE CITY — Henrietta Emily Appold, born Jan. 21, 1925, to Emil and Margaret Kindt, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 27, 2010, at Munson Hospice House following the death of her husband, Raymond, on Feb. 11, 2010. She was surrounded by her children. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Janet Sue Appold in 1983.Henrietta is survived by her children, Paul and Shelly Appold, Linda and Steve Peterson, Mary and George Eberlein, and Ruth and Doug LaFontaine; also her grandchildren, Katie Appold and Angie Appold, Todd and Amy Peterson, Matthew and Heather Peterson, Timothy and Amelia Peterson, Elizabeth-Anne Peterson and fiancé, Ryan Lee, Andrew and Heather Peterson, Stephen Peterson, Michael and Kristi Eberlein, Pastor Scott and Stephanie Eberlein, Benjamin Eberlein, Kimberly LaFontaine and Patrick LaFontaine; and her great-grandchildren, Alexis, Caleb, Naomi and Elijah. Henrietta is also survived by her sister, Doris Klein of Alpena; and many nieces and nephews.Henrietta was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Alpena. Following graduation from Alpena High School, Henrietta joined the Cadet Nurse Corps and trained as a Registered Nurse at Saginaw General Hospital. She was willing to serve her country as a nurse during World War II upon graduation, but by then World War II had ended.During her training as a nurse, Henrietta attended Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Saginaw. While there she was a member of the Walther League and met Raymond G. Appold. They were married June 4, 1949, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Alpena.Henrietta was a dedicated wife, mother and nurse. Henrietta and Ray were known for their life of faith and dedication to church, to prayer for their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends. Henrietta lived and demonstrated the faith of her father and mother. This, she passed on to her children. Even in her last days, Henrietta faithfully prayed for those she loved.The funeral will be at Trinity Lutheran Church on Friday, July 30, 2010, with Henrietta's pastor, the Rev. Robert Zagore officiating and Henrietta's grandson, the Rev. Scott Eberlein assisting. The funeral is at 11 a.m. with an opportunity to meet with the family one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 31, 2010, at Holy Cross Cemetery, Saginaw. The Rev.
