INTERLOCHEN – Hettie "Jane" Hansknecht, 80, of Interlochen, passed away on May 10, 2015, at her home with her family by her side.

Jane was born on June 21, 1934, in Charleston, WV, to the late Everett and Dona (Stone) Pauley. She married the late Eugene Hansknecht on May 14, 1977.

Jane loved her family and they were her greatest pride and joy. She always said that her greatest achievement was her four daughters, two sons, twelve grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was a lifetime member of the First Christian Church and her faith was very important to her. She was a wonderful person with a loving heart and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Surviving Jane are her daughters, Debbie (Tim) Johnston of Traverse City; Sandra (Derek) Barg of Interlochen; Donna Breihtaupt, of Traverse City; Kelly Marois of Grand Rapids; sons, Kevin Hansknecht of Georgia; Kerry (Lisa) Hansknecht of South Carolina; and many grandchildren.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, her nine siblings and her beloved husband, Eugene "Hunch" Hansknecht.

A memorial service will be held for Jane on Saturday May 16, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church, with visitation held one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the First Christian Church.
