Traverse City - Howard C. Foraker, 89, of Traverse City passed away July 27, 2017.

Howard was born on August 30, 1927 in Birmingham to the late Oscar and Grace (Nesbitt) Foraker.

Howard honorably served our country as a member of the United States Navy during WWII.

On April 27, 1997, Howard married Mary C. (Davey) Lorenz in Bull Head City, Arizona.

Howard was a lineman for Lee Myers Utility and Transformer Inspections.

In his spare time, Howard enjoyed fishing, travelling and the Arizona sunshine.

Howard is survived by his wife Mary, his son Garry (Emily) Foraker of FL, step-children Dottie (Jerry) Baker, Paul (Vicki) Lorenz, Carol (John) Witkop, Danny (Paula) Lorenz, Larry (Michelle) Lorenz, John Lorenz and Debbie Lorenz all of Traverse City; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Howard was preceded in death by his parents; Garry's mother Betty; brothers John and Robert; sister JoAnn and step-daughter Judy Dailey.

The memorial service honoring Howard's life will take place on Saturday, August 5, 2018 at 11:00 am with visitation beginning one hour prior at Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home. He will receive full military honors from the U.S. Navy and VFW.

Howard will be laid to rest at the Lakeview Cemetery in Clarkston.
