Howard Littleton West II, 76, of Traverse City passed away December 11, 2023 at Munson Medical Center with his loving family at his side.

Howard was born August 22, 1947 in Boston, MA to the late Howard and Dorothy (Barry) West. He met and eventually married the love of his life Donna Marie Coffey in Syracuse, NY on his birthday, August 22, 1975. Together they lovingly raised three happy and successful children.

Howard's journey was marked by significant achievements, including earning his bachelor's degree in science from Syracuse University. A dedicated perfusionist for 37 years, he also served his country with honor in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1970 as a Staff Sargent Medic contributing to air evacuations in Vietnam and Japan.

Beyond his professional life, Howard found joy in home improvement projects, including helping friends and family with their home improvements, and took pride in his well manicured lawn. In 2021, he and his wife, Donna, relocated to Traverse City to be closer to family. During his leisure moments, Howard cherished going to movies, indulging in books, and most importantly, spending quality time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife, Donna; children, Nathaniel (Ryan Zwahlen) West of Bend, OR, Benjamin (Angela) West of Traverse City, Bethany (Steven) West-Fahey of Bend, OR; grandchildren, Emily, Katelyn, Elliana and Ember; his sister Cheryl (Brian) DiPietro of Lancaster, MA and numerous family members, and friends.

He will be remembered as a compassionate soul devoted to family, the well being of others, and the simple pleasures of life. His absence leaves a void that will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
