Hwa Cha Baatz

Hwa Cha Baatz, 69, of Traverse City passed away Saturday, August 20, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family.

Hwa was a long time resident of Traverse City. She moved to Michigan in 1967 after having met her future husband while waitressing at a coffee shop in Korea. Dale and Hwa were married on January 16, 1967 at a service in Traverse City. She worked at Sara Lee for over 20 years and remained very close to her work family.

She will be remembered for her love and compassion. She always put needs of others before her own. Hwa loved her family and she worked hard to provide for them. She was honest to a fault. If she did have free time she could be found in her flower garden. She enjoyed all different types of flowers, but especially loved roses.

Hwa is survived by her sons Dale (Linda) Baatz Jr. and Daniel Baatz and her grand daughter Taylor Baatz.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dale Baatz and her mother and father.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 28, 2016 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 29, 2016 at 11 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Hwa's name can be made to the family.
