Obituary

Traverse City-Ida "Norris" Peet, 89, of Traverse City, formerly of Burt Lake and Ann Arbor, died Sunday, September 16, 2012, at Bortz Health Care.

Born October 15, 1922, in Atlanta, GA., she was the daughter of the late Charles Goodrich and Henrietta (Hairston) Snow. On June 19, 1943, in Chapel Hill, NC, she married Stewart Peet, who preceded her in death on March 26, 2010. She loved living in North Carolina and never lost her Southern Charm and Accent. While living in Ann Arbor, she worked for Dr. Henry Lewis at St. Andrews Episcopal Church and at Jacobson's.

Norris enjoyed her role as a homemaker, tending to her gardens and spending time with her precious cat Pud.

She is survived by her three sons; Stewart T. (Beverly) Peet of Windermere, FL , Henry H. (Sally) Peet of Traverse City and William S. (Sharon) Peet of Pinckney; five grandchildren, Callie, William, Bryan, Jason and Erin; nine great grandchildren and many other loving family members and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death two brothers, Charles and Robert Snow.

Memorial Services will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. Rev. Paul Busekist will officiate.

In remembrance of Norris, memorial contributions may be directed to the Cheboygan County Human Society, 1536 Hackleburg Road, Indian River, MI 49749.

Following cremation, she will be buried next to her husband, at Burt-Mullett Township Cemetery near Indian River.
