Idella "Tootie" Mary Corden of Traverse City, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at the Villa at Traverse Point in Traverse City.

Tootie was born on February 19, 1934 to Clifford Adolphus and Hildegard Julianna (Drobny) Kidder. On May 7, 1960 she married Joseph Raymond Corden in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Additionally, Tootie proudly served her country in the U.S. Air Force.

She worked as the crossing guard for Glenn Loomis school for 10 years and really enjoyed her time getting the kids safely across 14th street. She would hand out candy at Halloween, and dress up as Santa Claus at Christmas. Cars driving through would get to see Santa Claus stopping traffic to escort kids across the street. She received a number of civic awards for that service. Tootie also enjoyed scratching off her lottery tickets and playing bingo.

Tootie is survived by her son Joe (Dineen) Corden, daughter Patty (Corden) Weathers, and grandchildren John, Marcy, Paige, Darren, Isabel, Bellahna, and Kirk Weathers.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph, parents Duffy and Hilda, and grandson Luke.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Munson Medical Center Hospice.

Tootie and her family are being cared for by Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home and Cremation services.
